Hi there Disney friends! It's time for our weekly recap here at Focused on the Magic. Time sure did fly by and staying focused on the magic this week was easy. We're finalizing the details of our Fall Festival Fling at Disney World , eating our way around the World Showcase, meetups and Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (MNSSHP) and for Epcot's 30th Anniversary a weekend of fun with Celebration 30.

• We kicked off Presidents' Week with our first ever giveaway of a $100 Disney Gift Card.
• On Tuesday I shared my Favorite Hidden Mickey for The Orange Loop of The Magical Blogorail. 
• The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop theme this week was Disney Details. I shared a family favorite Hidden Mickey from Snow White's Scary Adventure ride in WDW, which closed this week. There were 27 sensational Disney bloggers linked up to the hop this past week, check them all out right here! 
• Photo Flashback Friday took us back in time once again, to a meet with some great old Disney Friends from AllEars.

Welcome back to another Week in Review of Focused on the Magic! We stayed focused on the magic of Disney ♥ with photos, crafts, flashbacks, and an awesome giveaway this week.

• We kicked off the week celebrating WDW Radio's 5th Anniversary as one of The Box People! 
• Magical Monday ~ The "I Heart My Family" Photo Contest.
• Tuesday was Valentine's Day and we shared a few Heart Shaped Photo Frame Crafts.
• The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop theme this week was Animal Attractions!. I shared a few attractive animals from Animal Kingdom. There were 25 awesome Disney bloggers linked up to the hop this past week, check them out! 
• Photo Flashback Friday took us back to in time to the long lost attraction, The Nautilus and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

• A post and poll for Follow That Blog Conference gained quite a bit of interest and prompted much discussion in the beginning of the week.
• Loving the Pinterest craze!  Many photos were pinned and repinned from the blog this week. 
• The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop theme this week was Love is in the Air!. I shared a very special wedding picture of my niece. There were 30 awesome love filled Disney blogs linked up to the hop this past week, check them out! 
• Photo Flashback Friday took us back to in time to Castaway Cay and Collectible DCL Trading Cards.

Welcome back to another Week in Review of Focused on the Magic!  This week was busy while getting ready for some Superbowl football, but we managed to stay focused on the magic of Disney World with photos, flash backs, flash forwards and reading great Disney blogs.


Let's take a look at the roundup of pixie dusted postulations from this past week....

• Sunday and Monday flew by with my playing with pins and postulating on Pinterest. It's so addicting! Stop by my Pinterest boards to see what I've pinned up.
• Tuesday I posted my photographic interpretation of a haiku from the Mouse of Zen book for a special edition of The Magical Blogorail. Check it out here.
• The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop theme this week was Your Calendar Shot for the month of February. I shared one of my favorite pictures of the Partners Statue in The Magic Kingdom. There were some awesome Disney calendar shots linked up.
• On Thursday I was back on Pinterest playing with pins and making new friends. I wonder if there's a 12 step pin! I'm also trying to get a grip on Google+ and deciding whether I like it or not. What do you think?
• Photo Flashback Friday took us back to Animator's Palate on The Magic and a Flash Forward to the new technology in art that will be introduced on The Disney Fantasy.

Week in Review ~ 1/14

Thanks for stopping by this week's recap. It's been another hectic week here on the blog and at home. I'm doing really well in my daily exercise routine. Even with a foot injury I was able to keep up my "old lady" pace on  the dreadmill. My goal is to be fit enough to do a Disney marathon or walk/jog 1,062.3 miles, the distance I live from Disney, whichever comes first. Enough about me!

• On Silent Sunday with Reach for The Sky , a pic from the safari at Animal Kingdom.

• Monday I shared a Dreamy Baked Salmon Recipe right off the menu on the Disney Dream cruise ship.

• The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop was a huge success this week thanks to the bloggers who linked up their great posts. I chose A Glowing Cinderella as my pic this week.

It was a Yankee Doodle Dandy celebration week of blog posts!

•   The 4th of July celebration kicked off the week with details and a video of American Adventures Voices of Liberty and details of the Independence Day celebration in Epcot. 
• On Take 2 Tuesday we shared the Sherman Brothers song, "The Glorious Fourth" and a video from the 4th of July at The Magic Kingdom hopping with the Tiggerific Tuesday Blog Hop ~ hosted by my friend Jodi at The Magical Schoolhouse. 
• The celebration continued with my friend Heidi at Ramblings, Reflections and Reviews for her Alphabet Blog Hop with "A" is for America and Apple Pie. 
• On Wednesday we had a spectacular 34 bloggers linkup for The Disney Wordless Wednesday .My pic for this week was A Yankee Doodle Night . I can't wait to see what everyone will post for next Wednesday. 
• Thursday was Christmas in July with a pic and story of joy plus info on where you can find Santa in WDW this month!

We managed to stay Focused on the Magic of Disney™ this week despite a trip to New York and unexpected trip to the emergency room yesterday. More or less on that later, first let's recap.

Star Wars Weekend Past Pics & Tips covers pics from past magical trips to Star Wars Weekends. Sprinkled in are some hopefully helpful tips for photography, shopping and touring. I'm not an expert in any of those areas (although DH might disagree about shopping) but I do have a lot of experience and enjoy sharing whenever I can to help make your trips a bit more magical. Each tip is marked for quick reference.

Occasionally I'll pull out pic I think fits with the topics of the week and feature it. This one is of Darth Vader and The Stormtroopers dancing to Thriller,

The Love Bugs  

they're baack, those pesky Love Bugs. We talked about them and shared some tips as to how to deal with the amorous flying bugs while in WDW. We also said goodbye to Herbie the Love Bug :(

Wordless Wednesday Hop - Disney Style  

I love Wordless Wednesday maybe because one of my hobbies is photography. To me Wednesday means sitting down with a cup of coffee in my favorite Disney mug and viewing Disney Wordless Wednesday pics on the web. Unfortunately, it can be harder than finding Hidden Mickeys at WDW. Wading through a lot of non Disney (no offense intended) pics first before finding Disney themed pics takes a lot of time. This week I joined forces with 16 great Disney fan blogs for a hop. A View of Illuminations

Thursday was The Disneyland Blog Hop and once again I came in at the tail end.The topic was Disney Firsts. I posted A View Of Illuminations while on the road to New York which was a first for me. This was also the first time I was able to get many good shots of Illuminations from a seated relaxed enjoyable location and a great view. No one was bumping the tripod or pressing up against me and I was seated with an adult beverage on the patio. Ah! A welcome first after a long day and a wonderful meal at the Rose & Crown Pub.

P.S. The trip to NY was ok but the traffic was insane!!! The trip to the emergency room for Peters' hand wasn't ok. He is paralyzed and in pain in his hand and the doctors after all the testing don't know why. We're seeing a neurologist on Monday. Too bad I can't get an appointment with House, we're not far from Princeton:P
