Wordless Wednesday | Castles in the Sky

Welcome to The Wordless and Almost Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we get together to blog hop, link up and share our Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday, Disney travel related picture posts.

Well this has been quite a week! Hurricane Irma has come and gone. So long Irma we are very happy to see you go!
The theme for this week's Wordless Wednesday is Castles in the Sky.
I just thought that sounded more poetic than Castles. Also, there is a song from the 70's with that phrase in it that I cannot remember. Paul would know. He was a lyrics wizard. Google is just turning up a more recent song. I will keep digging.

Do you ever play "Finish the Disney Lyrics" game or "Name that Disney Tune" by humming a song to see who can guess it first? It's fun while standing on a long line. Sometimes the people around us join in. It makes the time go quickly.

I shot this on our Christmas trip to Walt Disney World last year. I just liked the way Main Street shines brightly through the arch, the window in the tower and the contrast of Cinderella Castle against the night sky.

Where is your favorite castle?

The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop: June

Hi Disney photography fans. Welcome to the latest edition of the The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we gather to blog hop, link up and share our #DisneySide Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday Disney related picture posts.

This week's theme is your "June Calendar Shot". If you were to make a calendar for the month of June which of your Disney photos would you use?

Do you believe it's June already? Time sure has been flying by. For this month's calendar I chose a picture that I took at midnight last May on my solo trip of the backside of Cinderella Castle in Walt Disney World. This spot for me is just so magical at night.

Would you like to link up your #DisneySide photos and hop with us? We have a theme each week that you can follow along with if you'd like and your links can be from your blog, Instagram, Flickr, Twitter, Tumblr or SmugMug. You get the idea. The Link-up is at the bottom of this post.

Almost Wordless Wednesday ~ Castles

Welcome to The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we gather with other Disney Bloggers to link up and share our Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday Disney related picture posts.
This week's theme: ~ Disney Weenies ~
You may be wondering what a Disney Weenie is. It's not someone who takes the chicken exist on Tower of Terror, as DF Mike of My Dreams of Disney joked, although it would certainly fit the description.
A Weenie is what Walt Disney and his Imagineers called the iconic structures or focal points in each of the Disney parks and lands. They are big enough to be seen from a distance and interesting enough to draw you closer for a better look. Examples would be Spaceship Earth, Space Mountain, Big Thunder, The Sorcerer's Hat, The Tree of Life and all the wonderful castles to name a few.

Now for my favorite Disney Weenie ~ I chose pictures of Cinderella Castle, Beast's Castle in New Fantasyland and the turrets of New Fantasyland's entrance at night. From any angle the castles draw you in.

Also on hand to join in on the festivities were British singers and TV personalities of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie McClelland, who celebrated their inner princess by performing an original song on stage.

Destination Disney ~ Quoting Walt Disney

For this week’s Destination Disney in Quotes, we’re focusing on a famous quote from Walt Disney himself.
Walt Disney, Quote, Focused on the Magic, Cinderella Castle
Note he doesn't say Don't worry or It'll be alright. He had learned through his own struggles that sometimes we just have to stay strong and deal with whatever comes our way.

Just last month I was reminded of this quote during Hurricane Sandy. There were power failures, long lines at the gas pump across the Atlantic coastline. The situation for many of us was and still is grim. I can only hope that we will look back on it and have learned life lessons to take forward. I know our family has learned a lot about ourselves already.

Here's a way you can help survivors of Hurricane Sandy: CLICK HERE

Another quote that I really like.
