A big new way to play is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer

Toy Story Land is all-new at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Disney Release: (Feb.16, 2018) – It’s a joy-filled, toy-filled world as only Disney can create, and it opens June 30, 2018. The all-new Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World Resort is inspired by Disney•Pixar’s Toy Story films.

Guests in Toy Story Land – located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – will feel like they have shrunk to the size of a toy as Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Slinky Dog, the Aliens, Green Army Men and other fun-loving Toy Story characters come to life in the larger-than-life outdoor setting of Andy’s backyard.

And what a backyard! In a rich and colorful landscape straight from his vivid imagination, Andy has set up his toys for the best playtime ever. Guests will be surrounded by giant building blocks, game board pieces and more.

Across eleven fun-filled acres, Toy Story Land will include two all-new attractions and one expanded favorite. Guests will whoosh along on a family-friendly roller coaster behind Slinky Dog, take a spin with flying saucers in toy spaceships and score high on the midway.

Toy Story Land will also celebrate what once defined entertainment for a generation. Crayons, Rubik’s Cubes, Cooties, Green Army Men and other toys and games will pour on the nostalgia for park-goers. Even the lampposts will be shaped like Tinkertoys.

“With set pieces, staging, attractions and experiences Toy Story Land represents the best of Walt Disney Imagineering’s collaboration with our storytelling partners at Pixar Animation Studios,” said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. “This new land will place guests inside the wondrous world of Woody, Buzz and their pals – and invite everyone to experience the joy of being a toy.”

Here’s the rundown:

• Slinky Dog Dash. Andy has assembled his roller coaster kit for maximum family fun. Tracks and supports in bright colors of red, orange, yellow and blue are put together according to Andy’s hand-drawn plans, with Rex and Jessie lending a hand. And to complete his creation, Andy picked up everyone’s favorite floppy-eared dachshund with a strrrrretch-ing slinky coil belly and dropped it on to the coaster track. Get ready to ride inside Slinky Dog’s coils! Slinky Dog Dash is inspired by the delightful pooch spinoff of Slinky, the 1950s American toy classic. Riders of all ages will delight as Slinky Dog bends and twists his coils around curves, hills, bridges, and drops in the Slinky-est coaster ever. Riders will zip around and above Toy Story Land, serving up panoramic views of all that the new land has to offer. Andy’s colorful creation will stretch Slinky Dog and his coils to the max – from his head to his upturned tail – and be fun for the entire family.
• Alien Swirling Saucers. Brace yourself for out-of-this-world thrills because the aliens have powered up their flying saucers! Alien Swirling Saucers will immerse guests in the playful world of Andy’s toys. This galactic space toy is designed as a play set that Andy won at the Pizza Planet restaurant. Adorable little Toy Story green Aliens swirl about in their flying saucers with guests in tow in their rocket-ship toys, while “The Claw” hangs overhead. This space adventure is bathed in music reimagined for intergalactic fun, dappled with multi-color lighting and sound effects from throughout galaxies.
• Toy Story Mania! While Andy’s away, the toys will play. One of the most beloved attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Toy Story Mania!, gets an all-new colorful toy carnival game box entrance when the new land opens. In fact, this is the box that the Toy Story Mania! the game came in. Recently updated with a third track, the popular attraction will put even more guests in the carnival playset action taking aim at 3D objects – using everything from baseballs to creampies – in a variety of whimsical, fast-paced games. To the high-scorer go bragging rights.

When it’s time for on-the-go refreshments, Woody’s Lunch Box will serve up tasty meals and old-fashioned soda floats from a walk-up window in a setting surrounded by Andy’s favorite toys and a giant vintage thermos. Woody’s Lunch Box will also feature Mini Babybel – the Official Snack Cheese of Walt Disney World Resort.

Toy Story Land is part of a multi-year reimagining of Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the largest expansion in the theme park’s history. Next year will see the premiere of the all-new, 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. This new land will allow guests to visit a remote trading port on the edge of wild space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life – and where guests will find themselves in the middle of the action. Also coming in 2019 is Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. The first ever Mickey-themed ride-through attraction will feature new technology, dazzling visual effects and mind-boggling transformations that put guests in the whacky and unpredictable world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short.

We probably have The Star Wars Saga in every possible movie watching form except Laser Disc in our multi-generation house. With Star Wars Weekends fast approaching and the excitement over the December release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first new film in the Star Wars Saga in a decade, we were beyond thrilled to hear about the release of The Star Wars Digital Movie Collection. How cool is that?! We will be able to watch the whole collection anywhere and at any time starting, Friday April 10. Let the binge watching begin!

Disney Release: As anticipation builds for the December release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the first new film in the Star Wars Saga in a decade, The Walt Disney Studios, Lucasfilm Ltd., and 20^th Century Fox today announced the upcoming release of The Star Wars Digital Movie Collection. For the first time ever, all six epic films in the Saga, from The Phantom Menace to Return of the Jedi, will be available on Digital HD throughout the galaxy – or at least here on Earth – globally beginning Friday, April 10.

Hi there Muppet Fans! WOCKA! WOCKA! Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and the gang have a new show on Disney Junior.

Disney Release: This Friday, April 3, Disney Junior is debuting "Muppet Moments," a new short-form series of amusing conversations between Muppets and young kids about everyday topics including "apologies," "favorite foods" and "manners."

Starring Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear and other beloved Muppets, the series will premiere on Disney Channel with four shorts on Friday (8:25 a.m., 8:55 a.m., 9:25 a.m. and 9:55 a.m., ET/PT), followed by a new short rolling out daily through Friday, May 8. 

 All of the shorts will also be available on WATCH Disney Junior the same day as their premiere.

Disney Release – Show Your Disney Side, a new photo transformation app, allows Disney Parks fans to magically transform into their favorite Disney Parks characters. Now available for iPhone and iPod touch, the Show Your Disney Side app lets users pick a Disney Parks character, take a selfie and then tap and swipe to watch their Disney Side come to life with special effects. The Show Your Disney Side app was created by TYFFON, an entertainment app developer and one of the participants of the 2014 Disney Accelerator, a highly selective, immersive mentorship and investment program for technology-enabled startups in the media and entertainment space.

With the Show Your Disney Side app, users can choose their favorite Disney Parks character from iconic attractions and experiences such as Frozen, Star Tours®, Pirates of the Caribbean® and Villains of Disney Parks. When users visit Disneyland® Resort or Walt Disney World Resort®, they can unlock special Haunted Mansion® characters such as the Hitchhiking Ghost and Madame Leota. They can also unlock these special characters by sharing three of their creations on Facebook or Twitter.

 Users can personalize their Disney Side character with different costumes and frames. Then, by tapping or swiping the screen, their Disney Side will magically come to life with special effects, unique for each character. Cítricos Princesses For Breakfast and Brunch at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

 Disney princesses welcome guests to Cítricos at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Reservations are available for Walt Disney World Passholders and Disney Vacation Club Members.

Cinderella will greet guests as they arrive, and the Disney princesses will visit each table for photos and autographs during the dining experience. Diners also can participate in an interactive “Magical Wishing Ceremony” with Cinderella and the Disney Princesses, with “wishing wands” and “wishing swords” for little ones.

Breakfast and brunch hours are 8 a.m.-2:20 p.m., and cost is $49.99; $31.99 ages 3-9. The experience is on the Disney Dining Plan (2 entitlements). For reservations call 407-WDW-DINE.

Toy Story 4 Plans Revealed!

[Disney Release] Nearly two decades after Pixar Animation Studios created the world’s first computer-animated feature film with “Toy Story,” it revealed plans for Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story 4,” an adventure that returns audiences to the world of the studio’s signature characters.

John Lasseter, director of the original “Toy Story” and “Toy Story 2,” will direct the film, which opens a new chapter in the lives of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the “Toy Story” gang. The story was dreamt up by Lasseter, Andrew Stanton, Pete Docter and Lee Unkrich, the storytellers who have been the driving force behind all three “Toy Story” films.
The film is slated for release on June 16, 2017.

Disneytoon Studios returns to Pixie Hollow with the heartwarming adventure “Legend of the NeverBeast.” The new story explores an ancient myth of a fabled creature whose distant roar sparks the curiosity of Tinker Bell’s good friend Fawn, an animal fairy who’s not afraid to break the rules to help an animal in need. But this animal—massive and strange with glowing green eyes—is not really welcome in Pixie Hollow, and the scout fairies are determined to capture the mysterious beast before it destroys their home.
DisneyToon Studios has announced that Ginnifer Goodwin ("Once Upon a Time") will voice the character Fawn in the new Disney Fairies adventure, “Tinker Bell and the Legend of the NeverBeast”.

{Disney Release} – XPRIZE, Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Disney Corporate Citizenship announced the winners of the DISNEY BIG HERO 6 – XPRIZE CHALLENGE today. Much like the characters in Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” people between the ages of 8 and 17 were asked to harness their creativity and come up with innovative ideas to tackle some of the world’s biggest challenges using science, technology, engineering, art and/or mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.).

Hundreds of videos were submitted and narrowed down to 20 finalists.  From there, 6 winners were selected based on a combination of public voting and the scores from a panel of judges: Dr. Ed Catmull, President of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios; Gwynne Shotwell, president and CEO of SpaceX; Dean Kamen, an inventor, entrepreneur, and founder of FIRST ®; Anousheh Ansari, co-founder and chairwoman of Prodea Systems (and the first female private space explorer); and Jon Snoddy, VP, Walt Disney Imagineering Research and Development.

More than 4.1 Billion Servings of Disney-Branded Fruits and Vegetables Served Since 2006

{Disney Release} Disney Consumer Products (DCP) continues to introduce new “better for you” foods featuring some of its most popular characters to inspire kids worldwide to eat more fruits and vegetables and lead a healthier lifestyle.

More than 4.1 billion servings of Disney-branded fruits and vegetables have been served in North America since DCP began tracking in 2006. Disney’s Frozen and Marvel’s Spider-Man branded bagged apples by Sage are the latest additions and available now at grocery retailers nationwide. DCP’s (booth # 1838) wide assortment of licensed produce, featuring classic characters like Mickey Mouse to new favorites, were on display at the PMA Fresh Summit Convention and Expo in Anaheim, Calif.
