This week's theme is Characters on Parade! Because I'm getting all excited for Star Wars Weekend at Walt Disney World I thought I'd share pictures of a few of the characters that were on parade opening weekend last year.

Who is your favorite Star Wars character?

Star Wars Weekend Foodie Favorite

Happy Foodie Friday! We're focused on cupcake galactic goodness today. Star Wars Weekends are an exciting and an event filled time with parades, character meet and greets, autograph signings, Darth Mall shopping and the galactic shows.
At some point during the out-of-this-world festivities you have to take a break and recharge, or at least I do. What better sweet snack dessert could there possibly be for Star Wars Weekends than the exclusive to Star Wars Weekends, Darth Vader cupcake? This was the best cupcake I have ever tasted on property. It has edged out The Disney Moms Panel Fan Luncheon pink perfect cupcake as my favorite.

The Darth Vader cupcake is one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan or $4.99. Thinking that seems a bit pricey for a cupcake? Not at all, considering it's a full size large cupcake, filled with Chocolate-Peanut Butter, topped with sprinkles and Chocolate Frosting. DS, @PetethePirate and I decided to split this cupcake when we saw how large it was. I'm glad we did because it was more than enough for both of us, right down to the chocolate Darth Vader and white chocolate light saber. It was good to the last bite!

The Darth Vader cupcake was available during Star Wars Weekends in multiple locations throughout Disney Hollywood Studios. I got mine at ABC Commissary
so that I might enjoy my break from the action and some much needed air conditioning.

Have you tried the Darth Vader Cupcake?

Star Wars Weekend Characters
Last weekend I experienced the first of the Star Wars Weekends 2013 at Hollywood Studios which is filled with the largest gathering of Star Wars characters every weekend through June.  The force is still strong with me but my pictures aren't all uploaded yet so I thought it would be fun to share a collage of some of my favorite Star Wars characters from years past.

Time to link up your post and hop!

This will be a galactic 9 day experience for me and a trip filled with many firsts.

Photo Flashback ~ Star Wars Weekend

Welcome to Disney Photo Flashback where each week we enter the Wayback Machine of our Disney trip photos( that's E drive on my computer;) and share a few of our favorites.

This week is International Hollywood Studios Awareness Week, an annual event hosted by StudiosCentral.com. I enjoyed it so much last year that I thought I'd join in again.
We're posting on Hollywood Studios all week. Check out the Wordless Wednesday Blog hop with 26 bloggers joining in on the celebration this week.
Disney Hollywood Studios is a great park and I think sometimes it gets overshadowed. Thanks to Matt for bringing attention to it. Be sure to stop by the StudiosCentral.com and check out all that's happening.

Today we're taking a look back at Star Wars Weekends. We have a blast in the Studios running from character meet & greet to the parade and special events, not to mention the shopping! Autograph seekers queue up early (pre-dawn) but not my group. We usually stay out late the night before enjoying EMH and roll in to Hollywood Studios around 10am. There's still plenty to see and do if you arrive later in the day. Course you won't get TSM FPs but there's plenty of Star Wars activities and all the other attractions going on. If you have a Star Wars fan in your group, they are going to love it.

Celebrity meet & greets are held throughout the park.
Many fans dress up for the occasion as well, not me. When you're almost as old as Yoda it's time to leave it to the young ones. I'll wear Star Wars shirts and pick up a few limited edition shirts as souvenir. Lightsabers don't pack well;)

My favorite part of the weekends is the Hyperspace Hoopla, where all your favorite characters put on a show at the end of the day. It gets pretty crowded so you might want to head over there early to get a good spot.

I hope you enjoyed our photographic journey.

Wordless Wednesday ~ Star Wars Weekend

Focused on the Magic
Hi there! Hey there! Welcome! It's Wordless Wednesday, time to link up and hop with The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com!

I'm so glad you stopped by today and I hope that you'll link up your Wordless Wednesday. The theme this week is "June Calendar Shots". You may be wondering what that means. It's easy. If you were to make a 2012 calendar, which one of your Disney pictures would you use for the month of June?
It's always a difficult choice for me. I knew I wanted it to be from Star Wars Weekend since it happens in June along with celebrating Father's Day during the month. My husband is a Star Wars fan along with my sons. I couldn't decide which picture. Please help me out, which one do you think I should use for the calendar?
