The Force Is Strong | Almost Wordless Wednesday

Welcome and thanks for stopping by The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we gather together to link up and share our #DisneySide pictures.

Today's theme is "Your May Calendar Shot" and tomorrow is May 4th, the unofficial "Star Wars Day". As I am a huge Star Wars fan, I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorite Star Wars moments we've enjoyed at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
The fireworks force is strong this month first with a shot of Magic Kingdom fireworks.

An out of this world Galactic Spectacular Fireworks show. We were able to see but not hear except for the explosions from our balcony at Coronado Springs Resort each night.

I have lots of pictures of the new March of the First Order parade that I'll share at a later date. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be. Have you seen it and what did you think?

DisneySide Wordless Wednesday: Toy Story Mania, Disney's Hollywood Studios

Welcome and thanks for stopping by The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we gather together to link up and share our #DisneySide.

This week our prompt is Pixar!

Stepping into the world of Pixar at Disney's Hollywood Studios is magical. I love to see the reactions on peoples faces when The Green Army Men spontaneously interact with them. It's hysterical. Toy Story Mania is a must do and of course we never miss an interactive photo op.

Wordless Wednesday | Epcot Fun, Food and Flowers

This year Walt Disney World is celebrating 24 years of the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival with the theme, “Welcome Spring Fun, Food, and Flowers,” which was inspired by a vintage Walt Disney short film that featured Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Daisy, and Pluto.

We're doing a flashback to a few of the fun times we've had at Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival since 1994 for this week's theme,
Fun, Food and Flowers.

Almost #WW Linky | Be Our Guest Restaurant Details

With this week’s release of the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, I thought it would be fun to have a closer look at some of the details you may discover at Be Our Guest Restaurant in New Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom in the Walt Disney World Resort.

Throughout the restaurant you'll find roses in the design and decor. The rose represents the Beast's "countdown clock" to finding true love and accepting it.
You'll see them from the royal crest and iron gates, the gargoyles guarding the entrance and into the elegant Ballroom, the elegant Rose Gallery, and then to the dark West Wing where the Enchanted Rose is under glass slowly dropping petals as it counts down.

Don't forget to try "The Grey Stuff", it's delicious.

What is your favorite quick serve restaurant? What do you usually order?

Wordless Wednesday - Happy International Woman's Day!!

Today is March 8th and we are celebrating International Woman's Day #Disneystyle. The day focuses on social, political, cultural, economic achievements and contributions of women in the world.

I thought it would be fun to feature a few of my favorite strong female characters and on a more serious not a video of Emma Watson speaking to the UN on women's issues in 2015.

Wordless Wednesday: Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

Our theme this week for the #Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop is "Your March Calendar Shot".
If you were to make a calendar what photo would you choose for the month of March?

I couldn't resist the opportunity to celebrate one of my favorite festivals, the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival which opens today, March 1.

The 90-day festival runs March 1-May 29, 2017 and will showcase new gardens and character topiaries, the ever popular weekend concert series, special tours and an array of tasty foods and drink.
You can read all about it here.

Our theme this week is "Celebrate!". This year has been filled with sorrow to say the least but I did find time to celebrate my first clear PET scan. I am so happy to say I survived! What better way to celebrate than with fireworks, family and friends in Magic Kingdom park.

Almost Wordless Wednesday - Wishes

Welcome, so glad you stopped by The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we gather to link up and share our #WW #DisneySide Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday Disney related picture posts.

Our theme this week is "Love This!". I find myself saying it each time I experience Wishes the nighttime fireworks extravaganza in Magic Kingdom park.

Oh, a world of wishes, A world where dreams come true.
So make a wish, see it through.
Dare to do what dreamers do.
Cinderella Castle, Wishes the nighttime fireworks extravaganza in Magic Kingdom park.

What you'll experience:
The sky is the stage during this must-see 12-minute spectacular as rockets explode around Cinderella Castle. You'll hear a medley of famous Disney songs and the voices of Disney characters featuring Jiminy Cricket and the Blue Fairy as they celebrate the power of believing!

Tips:
Arrive early if you would like to be up close to the castle. There really isn't a bad view as long as you are facing the castle and able to look up. Look for Tinkerbell's flight to the right of the castle. The closer you are the better it is to see. The end of Main Street, USA or the train station provides a wonderful panoramic view away from the castle crowds.

Stay late. As soon as the show ends a mass exodus begins. This is a great time to grab a snack, shop or visit attractions that earlier had long queues.

Hello February! Almost #Disney #WW Blog Hop

Welcome to The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we get together to share links to our wordless or almost wordless #WW #DisneySide travel photos.

There is a theme each week that you can follow if you wish. This week's theme is "Your Calendar Shot" for February.

February is one of my favorite months for trips to Florida. The weather is beautiful, not too hot or humid which makes it easier to get some good pictures and there are always new things to see and do.

On this occasion I set up my tripod away from the crowds and pointed my camera toward the sky to capture the burst above but also the reflection in the river. Next time I'll use my Tokina 16-18 mm lens as this Nikon lens cut off the tip of the trails and the full reflection.

Timing is everything in this location because you are standing on a floating dock. Every time people walk past you will your camera will shake. If you are in the middle of a long exposure it can be frustrating. I think it's worth the challenge.

Welcome, thanks for stopping by the latest edition of The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we gather to blog hop, link up and share our #DisneySide Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday Disney related picture posts.

Today we are sharing Character Encounters! This was from a chance encounter in Magic Kingdom on my solo trip with a very sweet Snow White. I don't usually do character meets when I travel solo but on this occasion I happened upon Snow White with no line and decided to just step right up. She is just so lovely.

This week's theme is "Looking for a sign".

Here we have "The Goodbye Room" from the "it's a small world"  Magic Kingdom attraction in Walt Disney World, Florida.

The Goodbye Room from "it's a small world". Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World.

The Goodbye Room around the world is slightly different. In Tokyo Disneyland it's shorter than Walt Disney World and in Disneyland you would see postcards and goodbye phrases from around the world.

Wordless Wednesday Star Wars on Parade

Hey there Disney photography fans. Welcome to The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we get together to share our #DisneySide vacation photos.
This week's theme is "Parades".

I love a parade and especially a Disney parade. Not everyone in my family does. There are a few who take the opportunity to slip away from the group and take in popular attractions. Not me, I can't resist a parade. Some of my favorites at Walt Disney World have been during Star Wars Weekends.

Are you excited about the new 14-acre Star Wars-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? I am. I can't wait to encounter all these Star Wars characters for more than just a weekend!
