Disney has just given us a first look at Maleficent's magnificent wingspan in the newest poster. Are you curious about her wings? I know I am. Enjoy a video clip that gives us a hint as to the backstory of MALEFICENT and her wings.

"Maleficent,” the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty,” reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora, only to later realize that the child may hold the key to peace in the land.

The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

“Maleficent” is produced by Joe Roth and directed by Robert Stromberg, with AngelinaJolie, Don Hahn, Palak Patel, Matt Smith and Sarah Bradshaw serving as executive producers. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay.

“Maleficent” opens in U.S. theaters on May 30, 2014.

A never-before-heard Lana Del Rey rendition of “Once Upon a Dream” was unveiled as part of a 90-second sneak peek of Disney’s “Maleficent” during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards® on Sunday, January 26. “Maleficent” releases in U.S. theaters on May 30, 2014.

Award-winning, American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey has recorded a unique reimagining of the renowned fairy-tale tune from Disney’s classic animated film “Sleeping Beauty,” which will feature in the end credits of the upcoming Disney film.

Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon a Dream” is free for a limited time, only on Google Play, Google’s online store offering digital music, movies, books, games and more. The song was made available as a free download today and will be available exclusively on Google Play through Monday, February 3rd [http://smarturl.it/ldrgps1].

Tiggerific Trivia ~ Sleeping Beauty

Did you know?
Sleeping Beauty the 1959 animated film produced by Walt Disney and based on the fairy tale "La Belle au bois dormant" by Charles Perrault was released in theaters 54 years ago today, on January 29, 1959.

Sleeping Beauty was the 16th and last Disney animated movie to have it's cels hand-inked.

Fun Facts:

The film was directed by Les Clark, Eric Larson and Wolfgang Reitherman under the supervision of Clyde Geronimi.
It was the first animated film to be photographed in the Technirama widescreen process. Only one other animated film, Disney's The Black Cauldron (1985), was shot in Technirama.
The film's musical score and songs, featuring the work of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra, are arrangements or adaptations of numbers from the 1890 Sleeping Beauty ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

There is much debate in Disney fan groups as to the appropriate color of Princess Aurora's gown. Blue or pink both are shown in the film but with blue predominantly. Disney Merchandising post 1990 shows her most often in pink as in the picture below. I think it's because the original blue is worn by Cinderella. It wouldn't do to have two princesses in the same color ball gown;)

Three Hours Alone in Disney World

This month's topic is What would I do with three hours alone in Walt Disney World. Let me start off by making one thing perfectly clear, I love my family time in the parks. But, I have a passion for photography and when I'm in the parks touring with the family I'm always trying to catch up with them because I'm stopping to take pictures. That's why every opportunity I get I'll grab my camera and set off on solo photo journeys.

I love shooting the parks at night but since I only have three hours for this task, I'd start at 8:00 am when the lighting is just right.
Each one of the parks holds a photographic fascination for me.

For my three hour photo shoot I'd head straight to The Magic Kingdom starting at the foot of Main Street, USA where the curtains open up to Main Street, USA. I love capturing the progression in time and how it evolves as you approach the the castle.

I'd concentrate on the details in the turn of the century architecture, with windows and facades, enjoying the music of the Dapper Dans and smells from the bakery. Of course I'd stop for a cinnamon roll and coffee at the Bakery, who could resist?
I'd enjoy shooting all the CMs in action doing their part to make magical moments for guests.
