I can't believe it's almost time for our trip! Time sure does fly when you are having planning fun. 

Which brings me to the theme for the week, the letter "P".

Pirates for those of us who are still talking like a pirate and Pirates of the Caribbean my favorite attraction in Magic Kingdom and one I am planning to ride as soon as we arrive.

Almost Wordless Wednesday | Pirates of the Caribbean

Welcome to the latest edition of The Wordless and Almost Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we get together to blog hop, link up and share our #DisneySide Wordless Wednesday or Almost Wordless Wednesday, Disney related picture posts.

Adventure is the theme for this week.

Big changes are coming to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Disneyland Paris, and Tokyo Disneyland. With Paris as the first park to be renovated. The scheduled reopening is later this month. I am looking forward to reading everyone's reviews.

Among the addition of new characters from the film series, the animatronic auction scene, "Take a Wench for a Bride" will be re-imagined transforming the famous flirty redheaded woman into an auctioneer inviting the locals to “surrender yer loot” at an auction.
There will be no more pirates shouting “We want the redhead!” although I think Guests will continue the tradition for years to come.

Today I have the honor of being a guest blogger for one of my favorite Disney blogs, Beth's Pursuing the Magic  series, Pursuit of Pirates ~ Part 2.

Week In Review ~ 1/08/12

Thanks for stopping by this first week's recap in 2012. I hope you all had a safe and Happy New Year celebration! One of my resolutions this new year is to be more consistent with posting weekly reviews. Last year was very eventful here on Focused on the Magic and there never seemed to be enough time to reflect and review each week. Well, hopefully I can make time this year. 
Lots happened this week. Below is a round up of some special Disney Blogosphere posts from this past week.

• Disney Parks kicked off the year with "One More Disney Day". You can enter to win a Disney vacation so be sure to check it out.
• The Disney Moms started a great contest for a Disney Dooney & Burke purse! Check out all the details and don't forget to enter! 
• The Yellow Magical Blogorail, with The Magical Mouse Schoolhouse, Return to Disney,Magik Mouse,DISTherapy and Delightfully Disney discussed their favorite Future World Attraction

In case you missed anything this week at Focused on the Magic, here is the week in review!

• We kicked off the New Year with a new blog look. Merryweather heads up our header with my favorite color blue as a background. I chose Merryweather because we have quite a bit in common. We are both older  mature, on the plump side and we both enjoy spreading pixie dust. Hopefully with the success of my new exercise routine we'll have one less thing in common ;)
• On Monday Beth from Pursuing the Magic shared her love of Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean in the start of a great series called The Pursuit of Pirates.
• Tuesday we wrapped up The ABC's of Disney hop with the Letter Z. What a fun time we've had with Heidi's Destination Disney Hop. 
• Everyone seemed to enjoy Wordless Wednesday as it turned into Almost Wordless Wednesday  with the theme ~ First-Footing Disney Style. Check out the 24 bloggers who linked up their fabulously creative First Footing picture posts.
• On Thursday we shared Disney's Animal Kingdom Fitness Fun a great video from Disney Parks

Pirates of The Caribbean Attraction ~ Photo Tips

Yo Ho! Yo Ho! It’s a pirates life for me! ! Ahoy and welcome aboard! Arrrrgh, so we're talkin' pirates today. I love the POTC movies and the ride!  Here are a few Pirates of The Caribbean (POTC) ride picture takin' tips.. me hardies, Yo Ho!

POTC is considered one of the "dark" rides and not only because it's scary to young ones. The lighting is low. So low you can't see your hand in front of you. That adds to the Disney magic but makes it a challenge to take well exposed pics unless you're prepared.
