Disney After Dark

This month's topic of discussion is Your Favorite Thing to Do in Disney After Dark, besides the Fireworks.

Here are a few of our favorite things we enjoy doing after dark in Disney.

In the parks:
The parks are even more magical at night and in the summer months the temperatures are much more comfortable. The Magic Kingdom parades are always more exciting and beautiful to watch at night. I like to watch the last parades at the hub in front of the castle.

Stopping along the way to snap a few pics:)

The Haunted Mansion CMs are more lively at night joking around with guests.
We usually stop for a Dole Whip at The Aloha Isle
Midnight at Pecos Bills is the perfect time for a late late burger.

In Epcot the backwards fountain is a lovely setting as we head for Soarin'
I like to stroll the World Showcase after Illuminations. If I'm with my eldest DS we have to stop in Norway for a tart and a ride on Maelstrom.

The lighting is just spectacular in all the countries but I think China has the most dramatic lighting.

Disney Hollywood Studios is where we seek out Mulch Sweat and Shears who sometimes have impromptu performances at night. They're hysterical and really get the party going.

Favorite Resorts after dark:
I enjoy strolling the Boardwalk and enjoying the entertainment. The Boardwalk is a buzz with activity. There are entertainers doing magic tricks, juggling, artists. There are even carnival games. There are activities for all ages too.

The best part of the night is sipping a glass of wine and relaxing back at the resort after a long day of fun. If we're staying at the Wilderness Lodge then we're sipping Fess Parker on the balcony. DH, a Davy Crockett fan, developed a taste for Fess Parker wines at the Food & Wine Festival. Now that's his wine of choice (if we can find it) at the Wilderness Lodge.

If we're staying at The Boardwalk we like to take in the quiet hot tub first and then enjoy a glass of wine on the balcony.

  1. There are so many great options for after dark. Like you, in the Magic Kingdom, we head to Adventureland and ride the Jungle Cruise. It is such a different experience at night. Then, off to Haunted Mansion. You are so right about the cast members at HM after dark. So fun!

  6. Thanks everyone:) I'm finally back online! Please excuse this posts lack of writing. I put it up in rough draft and scheduled it to post for this morning. To my horror we lost power last night. I'm so glad I scheduled it to post, even in rough draft! The monorail would've left the station without me!!

  9. We are staying at the Boardwalk for the first time in September. Having a glass of wine on the balcony sounds like the perfect way to end an evening at Disney. :)
