New Cultivating the Magic Tour at Disneyland Resort

Disneyland Rose
Today's Daily Dose of Disney takes us to the Disneyland Resort. I don't usually report on Disneyland as I'm more of a "Worlder" than a "Lander" but I thought my gardening friends and folks who are looking for a new experience at Disneyland would enjoy this. I know I'd like to take the new Cultivating the Magic Tour at the Disneyland Resort.

One of the most beautiful rose bushes in my garden is the Disneyland Rose. Mine came from Jackson and Perkins a few years ago as a gift from my husband and each summer it puts on a show. Here in the northeast we have a much shorter blooming season. It must be amazing to see in a mass planting and hear all about how they care for them from an expert. Of course, I'd enjoy seeing the whole tour not just the roses;)

As promised here's the inside scoop from our Disney InsidEARS Community Manager Kelly.
I’m excited to let you know that an all-new Disneyland Resort guided tour is available – Cultivating the Magic! To get the InsidEAR scoop, I experienced this tour myself and had a fantastic time. Even if you don’t have a green thumb (I certainly don’t) you will still be amazed by the overall story that horticulture plays in Disneyland park and its rich storytelling.

During the Cultivating the Magic tour Guests learn about the landscapes and gardens that have transformed 260 acres of orange groves into Disneyland park. On your tour, you will also experience select Disneyland park attractions in a whole new way and learn about the historical significance of trees and flowers that you may have walked past dozens of times in past visits to the park.

Here are a few fun facts I learned while experiencing the Cultivating the Magic tour:
-Did you know that Disney Legend Imagineer Bill Evans, Walt Disney’s head of horticulture, has a window on Main Street, U.S.A.? Look for the “Evan’s Gardens” window located near The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln attraction.
-Did you know that during the summer months the famed Mickey floral display at the entrance to Disneyland park is covered with about 3,600 sweet alyssum flowers?
-Elephants aren’t the only ones with big ears in the Jungle Cruise attraction. Characterized by their large ear-like shape, the banks of the elephant bathing pool are appropriately lined with large green elephant ear plants.

Here’s how you can experience the Cultivating the Magic tour yourself:- The tour is approximately approximately two hours long.- Theme park admission for Disneyland park is required to attend the tour.- The tour leaves from Disneyland park Tour Gardens (left of City Hall) on Saturdays and Sundays at 9 a.m. and Mondays at 10 a.m.- All Guests who participate receive a souvenir pin and special seed packet.- Attractions and entertainment are subject to change without notice.- Tip: wear comfortable walking shoes and don’t forget a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses to make your tour more enjoyable.
