The Picture Keeper: Review and Giveaway!

This week's must have is all about saving your magical memories!

Today I am happy to review the Picture Keeper - PK4 and the Picture Keeper App.

Do you have photos on your computer or phone that need to be backed up?
The Picture Keeper will help you get those precious photo memories backed up safely on your PC or Mac. There are 4 different models to choose from, The PK-4, PK-8, PK-16 and The PK Pro. All models of The picture Keeper will automatically find photos on your computer and store them on the device. Whenever you download new pictures to your computer, you just plug the Picture Keeper in and it only adds the new pictures.
The Picture Keeper Mobile App for iPhone, iPad and Android provides a simple, easy way to wirelessly backup the photos on your mobile device to your computer.

Over the past year or so my laptop has crashed a few times. With the help of Microsoft we figured out that it was a Windows 7 problem. I'm happy now that my laptop is back in tip top form but each one of those crashes caused me to lose
precious magical photo memories from my Walt Disney World trips.
The external hard drive I use is great but it's not portable and it takes time to set up. I needed something smaller, lighter and easy enough for my son to use on his computer.
Enter the The PK-4 (see the photo at the top) I received for testing which can hold up to 4,000 photos depending on the size of the photos.

Easy to use! As soon as it arrived and after reading the directions which are easy to follow I plugged the PK-4 in to my laptop's USB port. There was no software to download. I clicked on the "Picture Keeper" icon and then clicked on the "Start Backup" button. The preprogrammed software then looked for image files in the most common places. I later learned from the Picture Keeper FAQ that you can choose which files to backup. After the first back up The Picture Keeper will only backup your new photos and won't duplicate your photos from previous backups.

Yes, you are seeing that number correctly. The Picture Keeper found 20,845 images on my laptop and I couldn't possibly back up all my pictures onto one or even the second PK-4 I received but I can use it for smaller downloads and on more than one computer. I will eventually get the Picture Keeper Pro (PK PRO) for home use.

What I like about the PK-4:
▪   Skips duplicate photos
▪   No software to install, wires to connect, passwords to remember, or monthly fees.
▪   Use on multiple computers; both PC and Mac compatible.
▪   Once one Picture Keeper fills, just use another and the second will continue where the first left off.  Amazing!
▪   Works well with all photo organizing software like Kodak Easy Share.

▪   Easily use with your digital photo frame, favorite print kiosk or keep in a fire proof safe.

Go Mobile!
The Picture Keeper Mobile App is super easy to use!  After downloading the app on iTunes to my phone, I went to the Picture Keeper PK Mobile Helper site to download the free program for my PC. You just have to make sure your phone and PC are connected to the same WiFi network. Once I started the app it was a matter of minutes before my 684 picture were downloaded from my iphone to my computer. Now that I know they are safe in my PC's PK file I can delete them from my iphone and start taking more pictures.
