“Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” celebrates the season at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

With state-of-the-art projections, special effects, fireworks and more an all-new nighttime spectacular, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!,” premieres at Disney’s Hollywood Studios Nov. 14, sending beloved Disney animated characters on a spirited yuletide adventure to get Santa back to the North Pole in time for Christmas Eve.

state-of-the-art projections, special effects, fireworks and more an all-new nighttime spectacular, “Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!,” premieres at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

The façade of the Chinese Theater comes alive with the merriment, music and sparkle of the Walt Disney World Resort 2016 holiday season. On, above and around the theater are state-of-the-art projections, special effects, fireworks and even snow. Adding to the immersive experience is a new musical score featuring familiar holiday tunes with an original twist. It’s a holiday show that couldn’t be more merry and bright.

It’s also a cranberry-red situation for elves Wayne and Lanny from ABC/Walt Disney Animation Studios’ animated special “Prep & Landing,” as the duo leads a top-notch team on a search-and-rescue mission for Santa.

Snowy fun and holiday cheer set to the twinkling tunes of the season bring together holiday moments from Disney films including “Mickey’s Christmas Carol,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Pluto’s Christmas Tree,” “Bambi,” – even a journey into Tim Burton’s “The Nightmare Before Christmas” – all building to a festive finale that’s “So tinsel!”

A special message from Santa Claus will cap off this unforgettable spectacular for the whole family.

“Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!” will run from Nov. 14 to Dec. 31, adding a sparkling finale to any holiday visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Dessert Parties Make the Holidays Even Sweeter
More holiday cheer is in store for guests who book a new dessert party that will be offered nightly during the show’s run. The Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Holiday Party features holiday inspired snacks, decadent desserts and specialty beverages in the courtyard of the Chinese Theater.

Beginning one hour before each performance of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, the party is $69 for adults, and $39 for children, including all taxes and gratuities.

More Holiday Cheer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
During the holiday season, “Tinsel Town” takes on a completely different kind of meaning at this theme park that celebrates the magic of movies and television. A giant Christmas tree towers over the main entrance, holiday displays capture the imagination, and colorful garlands and lights sparkle.

In the spirit of bygone days and Old St. Nick visits to great department stores across the country, guests can share their wish list with him at the Once Upon a Time shop, a vintage setting along Sunset Boulevard.

Disney•Pixar's “Finding Dory” welcomes back to the big screen everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang Dory (voice of Ellen DeGeneres), who’s living happily in the reef with Marlin (voice of Albert Brooks) and Nemo (voice of Hayden Rolence). When Dory suddenly remembers that she has a family out there who may be looking for her, the trio takes off on a life-changing adventure across the ocean to California’s prestigious Marine Life Institute, a rehabilitation center and aquarium.

In an effort to find her mom (voice of Diane Keaton) and dad (voice of Eugene Levy), Dory enlists the help of three of the MLI’s most intriguing residents: Hank (voice of Ed O’Neill), a cantankerous octopus who frequently gives employees the slip; Bailey (voice of Ty Burrell), a beluga whale who is convinced his biological sonar skills are on the fritz; and Destiny (voice of Kaitlin Olson), a nearsighted whale shark. Deftly navigating the complex inner workings of the MLI, Dory and her friends discover the magic within their flaws, friendships and family. Today we are sharing Character Encounters! This was from a chance encounter in Magic Kingdom on my solo trip with a very sweet Snow White. I don't usually do character meets when I travel solo but on this occasion I happened upon Snow White with no line and decided to just step right up. She is just so lovely.

Almost Wordless Wednesday | Nothing But Blue Skies

Goodbye, May and Hello June! A lot has happened since I saw you last!

It was June 1st of last year that I got the shocking news that I had a rare form of cancer. Shocked is putting it mildly, I was devastated. I don't smoke, drink and never even tasted a betel nut or had mononucleosis, which all causes of Nasopharyngeal Cancer.

I am feeling pretty lucky
and blessed today. Really lucky! I survived the first year. So, today is a celebration, not a pity party. When the 5-year survival rate is 64%, you learn very quickly to appreciate and celebrate each milestone no matter how small. Besides, it fun!

Today we are sharing our June calendar shots on the hop. I thought it would be fun to share not only a link to your blog post but an Instagram link (put it in your blog post) as well. I'm curious to see what you all have been up to on Instagram as well.

Here's my calendar shot to celebrate my first year: nothing but blue skies from now on

Today is Goofy Day!
One of my favorite Disney characters, Goofy is celebrating his birthday today. Here he is as the Great Goofini under the Big Top in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.

Happy Birthday, Goofy!! ah-hyuck! hoo hoo hoo hoo!

Goofy as the Great Goofini

Goofy first appeared in Mickey's Revue in 1932. Golly, that was a long time ago. He didn't get the name Goofy until 1934 when he became a regular member of the gang.

The Teaser Trailer for Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" Has Arrived

Squee! This made my day. I've been eagerly anticipating this trailer since I first heard the news that "Beauty and the Beast" would be retold as a live-action movie.

The first sneak peek at Disney’s upcoming live-action re-telling of “Beauty and the Beast” is out. Giving audiences a glimpse at the highly anticipated film based on the animated classic which refashions the iconic characters and musical numbers from the tale as old as time, the film stars Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson. “Beauty and the Beast” opens in U.S. theaters on March 17, 2017.

Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs.

This is just a sampling of the foods I would eat if I could. Of course, I am at a disadvantage this year. My being far from the parks, limited ability to swallow and misinformed taste buds since the radiation treatments leaves me at a disadvantage but a girl can dream.

I have been dreaming about Dole Whips, Frushi and Tuna Poke

This week's theme is "Parades".

I love a parade and especially a Disney parade. Not everyone in my family does. There are a few who take the opportunity to slip away from the group and take in popular attractions. Not me, I can't resist a parade. Some of my favorites at Walt Disney World have been during Star Wars Weekends.

Are you excited about the new 14-acre Star Wars-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios? I am. I can't wait to encounter all these Star Wars characters for more than just a weekend!

Planning the Paw-fect Walt Disney World Vacation for Puppy Pals during the Dog Days of Summer

Our fur baby Einstein came with us to Walt Disney World once a few years back when he was living with my son in Tampa. He enjoyed a paw-fect day at the Best Friends Pet Care facility while we explored the parks.
Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney World Resort is a luxury, state-of-the-art pet facility that offers boarding, daycare and grooming for dogs, cats and other family pets in a safe and fun environment. Before venturing to the parks, guests can stop by Best Friends Pet Care and let the pet professionals pamper their pooch for the day. Walt Disney World Resort (Garth Vaughan, photographer)

No bones about it: Mickey Mouse’s pal Pluto loves to run and play at Walt Disney World Resort. Canine visitors to the Florida Vacation Kingdom deserve a tail-wagging good time as well. Guests can treat their special four-legged family member to an experience that will last a lifetime (which in dog years could be a very long time!).

Here are a few ideas for the perfect dog day at Walt Disney World.

1. Every great day starts with a good night’s sleep. Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is the only pet-friendly resort at Walt Disney World Resort where guests and pets can rest up before a day of adventures. With site-specific camping loops that welcome pets and premium, full-hookup campsites, guests and their furry buddy will both be happy campers. For more information and to book reservations, guests may call 407/W-DISNEY.

2. Once everyone is wide awake and ready for the day, it’s time for a brief morning workout. Guests can take their pups to the Waggin’ Trails Dog Park at Fort Wilderness, where dogs of all sizes can run and play leash-free during their stay at Walt Disney World Resort. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk, so canine sidekicks may want to visit again in the evening.

3. While guests have a magical time exploring Walt Disney World, furry family members can enjoy a bit of the Disney magic as well. Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney World Resort is a luxury, state-of-the-art pet facility that offers boarding, daycare and grooming for dogs, cats and other family pets in a safe and fun environment. Before venturing to the parks, stop by Best Friends Pet Care and let the pet professionals pamper your pooch for the day. For more information about Best Friends Pet Care, guests may call (877) 4 WDW-PETS or (877) 493-9738.

4. As guests enjoy a day of park-hopping, doggy darlings can enjoy a relaxing day of VIP treatment in a beautiful, air-conditioned puppy suite at Best Friends Pet Care at Walt Disney World Resort. VIP grooming packages can be purchased in advance to give your barking buddy a full-day of grooming and relaxation. For pups a bit too playful for a day at the spa, there is plenty of room to run and play at Doggy Day Camp. This fun opportunity gives dogs the chance to enjoy safe, supervised social play with certified Doggy Day Camp counselors, complete with an assortment of toys. Using the facility’s complimentary webcam, guests can even check in on their pooch throughout the day! For more information about services available at Best Friends Pet Care, guests may call (877) 4 WDW-PETS or (877) 493-9738.

5. Don’t forget to stop by Downtown Disney and visit Happy Hound before picking up your pooch. This pet accessory store has something for every dog, including trendy outfits, custom collars and one-of-a-kind squeaky toys.

6. After a long day in the Walt Disney World theme parks, it is time to retrieve your cuddly companion. For some quality playtime before heading back to the resort, visit the Best Friends Pet Care private dog park, or take a pleasant walk around the grounds. What better way to end the perfect day than with quality time with your best pal!

Do you have a pet sitter while you are away?

Have a magical day!

#Disney (Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Hey there Disney photography fans. Welcome to The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic where each week we get together to share our #DisneySide vacation photos.

It's so good to be back! I have missed all of you so very much. As many of you know I have been battling Nasopharyngeal cancer since it was discovered last May. I am happy to report that I am finished with my radiation and chemo treatments and am just waiting for a PET scan sometime this month that will confirm I am cancer free. The struggle isn't completely over as I still have side effects from the treatment to deal with but each day I feel better and stronger.

Huge thanks and hugs to my DF Sean of  Disney Day by Day for jumping in and keeping the WW Hop going each week. You are my hero!

Thanks to all of my Disney Friends for sending me prayers, pixie dust, happy mail and inspirational messages. Your support and love meant so much to me and helped me stay focused on the magic during a not so magical time.

Today is the start of the bloom filled Epcot Flower and Garden Festival in Walt Disney World which runs from March 2 till May 30, 2016.
Discover an event bursting with fresh, farm-to-table flavors, brilliant blooms, interactive playgrounds and rocking entertainment. "
