It's Spring and a perfect time to channel the beauty of snow and ice with the limited edition cosmetics line inspired by the magical and elegant Elsa from Disney’s Frozen!
Hello my dear Disney friends! The new E.L.F. (Eyes Lips Face) Disney Frozen Elsa Makeup Collection has arrived at Walgreens!
I couldn't wait to give it a try. I love makeup even though I am rather conservative in my choice of colors and application. This collection gave me an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and "let it go".
We all know that makeup doesn't come cheap and purchasing products individually can really add up. E.L.F. offers quality cosmetics at a reasonable price. This set is fully color coordinated so that anyone can create the Elsa look. It's a great series for a teenager, Disney Bounding or a more mature makeup wearer who wants to bring out her inner princess.
The collection includes an Elsa Look Book, Elsa inspired eye shadow palette, blush, bronzer and highlighter compact, glistening glosses, lashes and much much more!
Everything is in there including instructions. The eye shadow color palette can be used with one application for a soft look or you can build up the color with more passes. I love that there are a few combinations of colors that you can mix and match. The brush is great quality and perfect for blending.
The Royal Pursuit lip gloss is smooth but not sticky. Both eyeliners went on with one swipe, no flaking or skipping. Starry Night has a slight shimmer which would be perfect for nighttime. Frozen Heart could be worn as a straight liner for daytime and easily smudges for a smokey nighttime look.
The Highlighter Snow Queen is very light and sheer. Applied above the cheekbones it gives you a radiant glow. Depending on your skin color you might need a few passes.
The Beauty Book would make a great gift!
I liked the Snow & Ice Glow Eyeshadow palette a lot. I thought the quality of the shadows was comparable to my high end brands and it offered me multiple looks, With one pass the colors were sheer enough for daytime and yet I had to option of building and blending for more dramatic nighttime look if I wanted it. You will find it's silky soft too.
Choose a light color to apply all over the eyelid as a base or to highlight. Next, apply a medium shade over the eyelid or in the crease to contour. Then apply the darkest shade to define and line the eye for depth and a smoky look. Mix and match for a custom blended look.
I used the e.l.f. Disney Elsa Super Glossy Lip Shine all by itself and over my 12 hour lipstick to freshen it up toward the end of the day. They go on smoothly are not sticky and they have a fun fruity smell. Oh and they are Hypoallergenic. Pink Kiss is my new "go to" lip gloss. I like that I can apply it without a mirror while on the go. Love it!
I am of the age where shiny gel eye shadows should be avoided at all cost. They are wonderful on smooth young skin but add a few wrinkles and the sparkly gel lights them right up. So it was fun for me to test The Icing Eyeshadow & Eyeliner. I was pleasantly surprised that if used sparingly just under my eyebrows as an accent how much it brightened my eye up. It is a smooth gliding gel enriched with Vitamin E to hydrate the eye area. Young women who want to capture the Elsa glow will love it!
