Crio Bru Brewed Cocoa Review
I am a participating Influencer at The Entertainment New Media Network. I have received free product for review to facilitate this post. I was not compensated for this review and all expressed opinions are strictly my own.
As most of you know, I love chocolate. So when the opportunity to try Crio Brü brewed cocoa came my way, I knew I'd have to give it a try. I'd never had real cocoa from ground cocoa beans. This was also a perfect opportunity to use my antique cocoa mugs for their intended purpose.
Crio Brü is made from 100%, perfectly roasted cocoa beans. No sugar, dairy or chemicals are added and the minerals and antioxidants are preserved in the process. The list of health benefits is a long one. What I noticed was that it was a great "pick me up" in the afternoon. Not a caffeine jittery high but a pleasant energy lift.
This is one healthy cup of cocoa. It has all the nutritional benefits of dark chocolate with only 10 calories and 1.5 carbs .
Opening the package releases the most delicious mouth watering fragrance. I wish this picture were a scratch and sniff so that you could experience it. Crio Brü appears to have the consistency of ground coffee and even brews like coffee but that's where the similarity ends.
There are several flavors of Crio Brü: Cavalla, Vega Reál, Coca River, Maracaibo and Kabenau. I was sent a package of Cavalla and Maya for review.
Cavalla has 100% ground cocoa beans, but also has hints of coconut and cinnamon. The other blend I received, Maya, contains cocoa beans, cinnamon, ground vanilla beans, and cayenne pepper for a little bit of spicy kick.
To brew the Crio Brü I used my coffee machine. My son has a French Press and I will be trying it in that as well. I think it will probably brew a bit better in a French press. I found that it took a long time to drain through in my coffee maker. That may be do to my coffee maker. I even tried it in my Keurig but it's not a good match.
The instructions suggest using 2 tablespoons of grounds per 6 oz. water. You can add other spices, like cinnamon to the grounds and can even combine with coffee grounds. I love the taste without spices and a little Fat Free half and half. I also enjoy a cup with a tablespoon of coconut oil for an extra nutritional boost. The Cavalla alone without cream, sugar or coconut oil was delicious! The Maya was a bit spicy for me but my son loved it!
Nothing goes to waste with Crio Brü!
Crio Inc. is a green company which is something I really appreciate. One way to repurpose Crio Brü grounds is to bake with them. I made brownies for my #DisneySide party using Cavalla. They were delcious! You can add a few tablespoons to smoothies too or as I do with my coffee grounds you can put it in the garden. Your flowers will love you for it. Just keep your pets away from the grounds as they can be extremely hazardous to their health.

Go check out the Crio Bru Website and look at the other flavors. You can order from their site, or it is sold in select stores. There is a 3 pack available on Amazon: Crio Bru 3 Pack (12oz) Coca River, Cavalla, Vega Real (affiliate link) that seems reasonably priced and a good way to try it.

Having a Mickey Muffin and coffee hit the sweet spot between tradition and a quick breakfast before hitting the parks for the last day. When this picture was taken last May I was at the end of my trip to Walt Disney World. It had been an amazing adventure that included 3 resorts and 2 dining plans. The BoardWalk Villas, my Disney Vacation Club home resort was our home for the last 4 nights. Years ago my kids started our "Bun Run" family tradition while staying at the BoardWalk Villas. On this day I was the one to do the run. It was a gorgeous day to sit outside and enjoy the boardwalk view with my morning blueberry muffin and coffee. Just a great way to start the day.
This tasty treasure is chock full of blueberry goodness and just the right size. Not too big and not too small. It has a plain muffin top without a sugar coating. It has a soft cake-like center.

Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop: Epcot's Flower and Garden Festival
The theme this week is: Flowers and Gardens
I chose pictures from last years Flower and Garden festival to share today. I can't wait to see the 2014 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival on my next trip. The shots pictured here were taken in the Butterfly House and around the World Showcase lagoon. I try to capture the same picture every year as the flower bed displays change with the theme each year.
Inside Tinker Bell's Butterfly House you can see a variety of not only butterflies but topiaries. I really enjoyed seeing a butterfly land on Terence, the dust-keeper fairy. He's in charge of making sure everyone has their pixie dust and he's also Tink's best friend. How do I know that? I read the sign. You can learn a lot at the festival;)

'Maleficent' ~ Wings Poster & New Video Clip, The curse has been broken.
Disney has just given us a first look at Maleficent's magnificent wingspan in the newest poster. Are you curious about her wings? I know I am. Enjoy a video clip that gives us a hint as to the backstory of MALEFICENT and her wings.
The curse has been broken.
"Maleficent,” the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic “Sleeping Beauty,” reveals the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora, only to later realize that the child may hold the key to peace in the land.
The film stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent, Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.
“Maleficent” is produced by Joe Roth and directed by Robert Stromberg, with AngelinaJolie, Don Hahn, Palak Patel, Matt Smith and Sarah Bradshaw serving as executive producers. Linda Woolverton wrote the screenplay.
“Maleficent” opens in U.S. theaters on May 30, 2014.
