Rustico Leather Travel Set Review

There's nothing like traveling with stylish leather accessories! The smell, feel and durability of fine leather goods makes it all feel a little better. Whether it's in my handbags, boots, shoes or coats I love it. And as a travel memory keeper I have always lusted after leather bound travel journals. They seem so permanent and remind me of the classic journals of 19th century world travelers filled with profound prose. Maybe I've seen too many Indian Jones movies.
My collection of journals are filled with notes, pictures, poems, doodles and thoughts. It's an eclectic collection of tattered loose leaf notebooks and worn spiral notebooks. None of them are real journals but I do enjoy reading back through them and reminiscing.
When I was given the opportunity recently to review a Rustico Leather Travel Set I was delighted to put it mildly.

Disney Wordless Wednesday and a Bit of Disney History

Welcome friends and thanks for stopping by The Disney Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop here at Focused on the Magic.com where each week we gather with Disney Bloggers to link up and share our #DisneySide Wordless Wednesday vacation picture posts. The theme this week is, History.
I chose to share a bit of Disney History with my pictures this week. If you are a Disney fan I'm sure you know this bit of trivia but I thought I'd share it just in case you missed it in all your Disney trivia reading.
The bronze Partners Statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse is located in the hub of the Magic Kingdom and is one of the most popular photo spots in Disney World. I find it almost impossible to walk by day or night and not take a picture of it.

Epcot's Yorkshire County Fish Shop

Epcot's Yorkshire County Fish Shop Review

Our Foodie Favorite this week finds us at a charming Quick-Service restaurant in Epcot's World Showcase UK Pavilion, Yorkshire County Fish Shop

This is a must do for my family. We look forward to stopping here for a quick bite even though the menu (see below) is limited to Fish and Chips. The portions are hearty and filling even for the big eaters in my family.
Prepared on the spot the deep fried fish is always hot and has just the right batter, crispy on the outside and soft inside with flaky white fish. Each order consists of two fillets and a large serving of chips lightly seasoned and served on a faux London Times waxed paper. Don't forget to grab a packet of malt vinegar at the condiment stand located to the left of the queue. A little goes a long way and it really adds an authentic taste to the meal. Dessert is a package of English Shortbread Cookies (love these) and drinks are a variety of soft drinks, Bass Ale and Harp Larger. They also offer a souvenir stein which is fun and makes the meal even more memorable.

Seating is limited and lines can be long. We usually send a scout to find a table in the patio area overlooking the lagoon or a bench in the garden behind Twinings Tea Shop or in front of the gazebo where the British Revolution play. The best locations are along the wall in the patio area for Illuminations or the bench in front of the band to rock out to classic British tunes while you dine.
Wherever you go the ducks will follow.

#DisneySide Hidden Mickey Hunting & Tiggerific Trivia

#DisneySide Hidden Mickey Hunting & Tiggerific Trivia

You don't really have to hunt to find the brass Hidden Mickeys adorning the elaborate bridles and halters of the Main Street Transportation Horse Drawn Trolley. They are easy to spot in the pictures above.

Fun Disney Horsey facts:

  • The horses chosen for this important job are all geldings (neutered males).
  • They are Belgians and Percherons which are breeds known for their mild temperament and strength.
  • The Belgians are from Belgium, and the Percherons are a Northwest section of France called La Perche.
  • Disney uses Lippizans in weddings, the Christmas Parade and to pull Cinderella's coach.
  • The horses work four hours a day, four days a week.
  • Plastic horseshoes are worn by the horses.
  • The Transportation Trolley fully loaded weighs about 4000 lbs.
  • The steel tracks in the street help guide the trolley and ease the burden on the horses.
  • At night the horses are housed at the Tri-Circle-D Farm at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort.
